At Onextra Care, we believe that healing begins with compassion, understanding, and the right support. Childhood can bring challenges that affect emotional wellbeing and development, and having a safe space to work through these experiences can make all the difference.

That’s why we work in partnership with both Feeling and Healing Therapeutic Services and FutureFIT to provide specialist therapeutic care for children. Together, we focus on creating safe and nurturing environments where trust can grow, resilience can be strengthened, and lasting positive change can take place.

Wellbeing & Therapeutic Support

Therapeutic Support with Feeling and Healing

Through our collaboration with Feeling and Healing Therapeutic Services, led by Clinical Director Sabrina Maynard, we deliver therapeutic support designed to help children feel safe, understood, and empowered.

With over a decade of experience in social work and extensive counselling expertise, Sabrina brings specialist training in both Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and the PACE model. These approaches are particularly effective for children who have experienced trauma, loss, or changes in caregivers, as they focus on building secure attachments, restoring trust, and promoting emotional healing.

Our therapeutic support is centred on the needs of children, helping them to:

  • Develop emotional resilience and self-regulation

  • Build stronger and more secure attachments

  • Express feelings openly and safely

  • Heal from trauma and disrupted relationships

Wellbeing Through FutureFIT

Alongside therapeutic support, Onextra Care partners with FutureFIT to promote children’s physical and mental wellbeing through engaging and inclusive programmes.

FutureFIT’s Moving Together initiative provides tailored fitness and wellbeing support for children in residential care, young people in foster care or social services, and those in specialised education. By combining physical activity with positive encouragement, FutureFIT helps children build resilience, confidence, and a healthy relationship with fitness.

Founded and led by Orlando Grant, Head of Exercise, Physical Activity, and Health at FutureFIT Alternative Provision, the team brings nearly 20 years of expertise to their work. Orlando’s passion lies in empowering disadvantaged children and creating opportunities for them to thrive through physical health, emotional strength, and a sense of achievement.

Together, Onextra Care, Feeling and Healing, and FutureFIT provide a holistic approach to children’s wellbeing – supporting both emotional healing and physical health. Our shared mission is to create safe, supportive spaces that inspire growth, connection, and long-term positive change.
